Business Website | About Us Page
Customers rely on a variety of factors that help influence their decision of who to do business with. Understanding the business back story is a contributing factor, which is why the About Us page of a business website is so crucial. Conveying how the business began, where it is located, and what you have to offer is the best way to structure your About Us page. The team of experts at Montfichet & Company – Atlanta recommends a minimum of 500 written words on the About Us page.
The About Us page is a great place to list all of your team members, their positions, or their responsibilities. Using a professional photo is a great way of humanizing the page experience. Customers want to see who they are working with and what experience they bring to your business. In many cases, small businesses only have one or two people who are a part of their team. Some of them are not even being paid, but that is ok. The experts at Montfichet & Company – Atlanta recommends listing one to three people on your website even if they are not being paid. Highlight what they did or are doing for the business and give them a title that fits their skillset or contribution. You can even list them as a founding member or an advisor.
A business website’s About Us page is the best place to list your company’s core values. The core values are specific attributes that you hold important in your life. These values can be the foundation of your business and the standards for how you perform your work. These core values are the practices we should be using every day in everything we do. Examples of core values can be dependability, reliability, loyalty, commitment, and efficiency. The core values you choose for your business should be reflective of what you would like your business to be.
Furthermore
Another aspect of the About Us page that the experts at Montfichet & Company – Atlanta recommends is the mission and vision statement. So, the mission statement defines the business, its objectives, and how it will reach these objectives. The objectives describe the actions required to accomplish the business’s intent. Once you understand how to define your business and its objectives you will be able to write a business mission statement. Moreover, we recommend using a minimum of 30 words or less.
A business vision statement is another attribute that the team of experts at Montfichet & Company – Atlanta recommends for a business website. The vision statement describes the desired future position of your business. Imagine what your business will be like in five to ten years. Decided what the purpose would be, and what success looks like in the business operations. So, you can go as far as imagining what the business structure would evolve to or describe a measurable goal. Once all these variables are met, we recommend using a minimum of 30 words or less to create a vision statement for your business.
Business Website | Contact Us Page
It is crucial and highly recommended that all businesses especially small businesses create a Contact Us page. The Contact Us page should list your business name, address, and phone (NAP). Moreover, we recommend listing a business email that includes your domain name, for example, Jthomas@montfichet.com. Montfichet would be considered the business name. It is extremely important to have a local phone number connected to your business. The NAP information tells the algorithm that you are a local business, and this helps your business appear more frequently in local search engines and mobile device map searches.
Business Website | Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions
Our team of experts at Montfichet & Company highly recommends that all business websites, including small businesses, should have two separate pages outlining the companies Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions. The Privacy Policy is a legal document that informs the user that the owner of the website gathers, users, discloses, and manages a user’s data. So, creating this page fulfills the business’s legal requirement to protect the privacy of anyone on the business website. The Terms and Conditions operate as a legally binding contract between the business and anyone who uses their website. However, this page outlines the rules and guidelines that visitors must agree to follow to use your website.
Partners & Affiliates
Creating a page on your business website to list your partners and affiliates is a method that servers several purposes. The expert at Montfichet & Company – Atlanta recommends that businesses create a page that not only links to the partner’s website but also displays that business logo. So, the Partners page is a key strategy that helps your business appear in local search engines. It meets the search engine guidelines, helps rank the business, and develops connections in the community. Adding a Partners & Affiliates page to your website shows customers that you are connected to other businesses and professionals.
Business Website | Blog
Adding a Blog to your business websites is crucial for any small business. This strategy is crucial for search engine optimization (SEO) or building an online presence. The effectiveness of SEO depends on consistently producing organic content for the business. So, the experts at Montfichet & Company – Atlanta recommends a minimum of one blog a month consisting of a 2,000-word minimum. Add a blog to your business website positions the business owner as an industry leader.
A business website’s blog should provide unique information that the reader can rely on. The goal is to emerge as an industry leader. They are innovators, pioneers, and visionaries. They bring change, providing a high quality of services and products to the market. Moreover, these methods can also generate customers for your business.
Testimonials & Reviews
The team of experts at Montfichet & Company – Atlanta highly recommends creating a testimonial page and reviews page on all small business websites. Creating a page for testimonials is a great way to connect potential customers with previous customers. Potential customers have the opportunity to observe the experience through the eyes of another. Moreover, providing a testimonial page on your website makes it easy for customers while taking the guesswork out of locating this information online.
Adding a separate page to your business website will allow customers to leave reviews on external platforms such as Google My Business, Facebook, and Yelp. A review page is the best way to increase your chances of obtaining feedback. The process is simple and accessible while removing the frustration that comes with the hunt. Our experts recommend connecting to as many online sources to increase your visibility. Choose platforms that are specific to your industry and gains lots of traffic.
Conclusion
A Professional business website is not exclusive to midsize and large businesses. Small businesses have the same opportunities and access to compete effectively. Finally some one answers the question we are constantly asking “How to create a website”? There are clearly things most people do not think about but yet find ourselves thinking we know everything involved. I love this article and look forward to reading more on the subject. And yes I love the title. : )
James I love the details about steps needed to build a website and all the thing I need to be thinking about. It is weird how your thoughts in your mind drive an unrealistic approach to what is needed. You gave me a lot to think about and look forward to our call.
After reading your blog it got me asking myself a few questions. First “What is eCommerce website”? The only reason I am asking is that I am interested in building out a site to sell specialty bakery goods. Due to recent demand or demand that is forcing me to do this full time I need to figure out how to capture orders while marketing my French bakery-style pasties. Also your blog answer a lot of question I was not thinking about.
Rachel – Thanks for sharing your questions. Let’s get into it. An e-commerce website is a website that allows you to buy and sell tangible goods, digital products or services online. Trade, be it barter exchange or buying and selling of goods and services has been prevalent for centuries. No one can be self-sufficient. And this brings out the need for demand and supply of goods and services. Transactions have been going on all over the world for centuries, locally, and across locations. Keeping the same concept in mind, now think electronic. Ecommerce is known as electronic commerce or internet commerce, which refers to the buying and selling of goods or services using the internet, and the transfer of money and data to execute these transactions.
How does this apply to you? Simple, you have an active bakery business that needs strategic consultants to help you develop a channel for you to sell your goods. Ultimately satisfying that urge for mouth-watery goodness. I am excited you are giving us the opportunity to build your lifelong dream. Our Atlanta office can’t wait to gets started.
How do I build/get started with WordPress Website and blog?
First, you need to make sure that you are choosing the right blogging platform and template for your website. A self-hosted WordPress site is the best platform in our opinion. It offers you the flexibility and freedom to grow your blog without any limitations.
Next, you will need to choose a WordPress template and hosting company. All websites on the internet needs hosting. This will be your website’s home on the internet.
You will also need a domain name. This will be your website’s address on the internet that your users will type in their browsers to reach your site (e.g. wpbeginner.com or google.com).
We recommend using cloudway. They are one of the fastest hosting companies for startup and medium-size companies if your budget does not permit using AWS or Azure (https://www.cloudways.com/). Blue host and go daddy are well-known brands that continue to deliver slow hosting performance.
Once you have signed up for a cloudway, you can go ahead and install WordPress. For complete step-by-step instructions, see our sister company The Trusted Automation.
Hey, I just was just wondering if managing google ads is a form of passive or active income once everything is fully monetized? I’m about 40% in his course, thanks in advance!
Nothing is passive as everything is changing.
Hi James and everyone in this community.
I have a really hard questions and need your thoughts on this one.
I am currently working for a client that sells leather dye for the seats in your vehicle with Google Ads. He had an ok performing campaign, that I was able to improve. I mainly did so by cleaning up irrelevant keywords and fixing conversion tracking. Wrote some new ads as well. It’s been on an automated strategy the whole time. It’s performing pretty much exactly as we want it to with CPA’s where we want them for the most part.
I’ve tried to launch a branded campaign and 2 manual cpc campaigns to make them profitable. But I am having a terrible time of it. The branded is ok, but my other manual is not. It’s been about 6 weeks of tweaking and spending and I don’t feel I have any results to show for it. It is losing more money than it is making, which I would expect at first, but I figured I would have something by now.
I’ve used broad match and phrase match keywords.
I’ve adjusted bids up and down depending on the conversion rate.
I even tried maximize clicks to gather data.
I get around 11 conversions a day on average with the automated campaign but can barely get 1 most days with the manual.
I’ve got good CTR’s, right around 4%+
Kind of at a loss, and would love some ideas.
Thanks in advance for any advice!
With google, there are too many factors to consider.
1. Broad match keywords- can be changed?
2. What is the search impression share for the keywords?
3. How many keywords are you using?
Hi James,
I am receiving a huge amount of leads from Google Display campaign at a very low CPL. But when my sales team calls them those people say that they haven’t filled the lead form.
1. What can be a potential reason for the same?
2. Can you recommend insight into how to optimize my display ads?
They’re actually bots, make sure you have excluded mobile apps.
One option I would recommend is using honeypot fields in your form.
Syed Jawwad Ali Jafri We already have a firewall. Please explain what is honeypot?
Honeypot is an extra optional field that you can add to the form and make it invisible to normal users in your form. When the normal users fills the form he/she won’t be able to see the field and it would remain unfilled. However, when a bot will try to fill the form it will fill all available fields. You can easily distinguish between real and bot filled forms. We have implemented this on our website and have completely got rid of spam
Hi James and Team,
I need Advertising Help!!
I am working on a client from Upwork and her company sells Office Management Software. Her budget is pretty low… I can really only spend about $50 a day. I have 3 ad groups set up with minimal keywords. However, Google is telling me that little/no traffic is expected even though I am targeting the whole US. Does anyone have any suggestions? I’m feeling stuck and confused with Google Ads!!
This sounds like B2B, try reverseads, seems like a better fit for this niche, and for this budget they can get a lot more.
Hi Jame,
